READ: Philippians 3:17

17 Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do.

UNDERSTAND: get a deeper understanding of the key words

1. Begin by underlining nouns with a single line, double underline verbs, and circle descriptive words.

2. Make a list of the key words/phrases and think about what they mean.

Snapshot: In this passage Paul shows us the importance of who we are following. If we’re not careful we will keep our eyes on the wrong people and follow a bad example. We can easily mold our lives after the wrong model. That’s why Paul tells us to keep our eyes on those who live like Christ. As believers, we should seek out like-minded people that are striving to know Christ. In doing so we can help each other live up to what God has done for us.

APPLY: What is this passage calling me to do?

Who are your eyes on? Are they a good example? Why or why not?

Read Proverbs 13:20. How have you seen this principle play out in your own life?
